This is the last version that I am going to upload for a couple of weeks. It opens and saves ╘TEXT╒ files. Although it cannot save it own formatted color text, yet. Nor can it open or save MacWrite of Word formatted files. Oh well...
MaxWrite pre-release Alpha 2.0 version can open and save files. It has a new menu added, but nothing on the menu is hooked up. I am currently working on this stuff. While I was fixing some big bugs I messed up the text menu a bit. Oh, well. It doesn╒t look perfect, but it does work. The next upload will probably be when Steve gets back from Colorado and gets a chance to put some of his own code in...Three weeks at the most. If we don╒t here from anybody between now and then, we probably will give up this thing and go back to the drawing board.
Please use it and send Steve or I any comments that you have. We would also appreciate any ideas to put in it that no other word processor has. We are already thinking about user-defined triple clicks that would select sentences, paragraphs, or the entire text line. Think about it awhile and give us suggestions. If you are trying the program out on a Mac II with color monitor please contact us. We badly need beta testers. If you want to beta test, but you do not have a Mac II(who does!) contact us. We will be glad to make the latest versions of MaxWrite availiable to you.
MaxWrite requires System 4.1 to run. What we are working on now: Print, User-Defined Mac II color menu, Find , Replace, Indexing, user Dictionaries, and importing files from other word processors. We do plan to write a convertion utility that will convert MaxWrite╒s color text to any major word processor that may come out in the future!

I know you are all wondering about the about window. Well, I haven;t had time to finish it. I have been working on more important projects! I think that our pictures will end up in the window. And, of course, we╒ll have to put some really cool things in it that only occur when the user holds down the <cmd> key or some other combination.
